Keeping our Promise for the Monster High Halloween Costume

I promised the kiddos this year they could be what they wanted for Halloween, even if it was the more expensive costume.  There is something about spending a ton of money for a costume that will be worn one night that just didn't make a lot of sense to me in the past.  But this year I made the promise they could choose.  Phew that was more difficult to keep then I thought!!

So they both want to be a Monster High girl for Halloween.  These Monster High characters are so popular this year that I figured I better start looking early.  In April we couldn't find any one of the dolls on the shelf for one of the kiddo's birthdays - that kind of popular.  People were waiting at Toys R Us for the trucks to pull in just to see if any new dolls arrived and online it was a long wait for the dolls back then.  So thinking back to April when we couldn't get her the doll she wanted, I figured we had better get a move on the costume early.

You would not believe how hard it was to find one of these costumes! My oldest is Draculara which was quite easy to find at the moment (but may sell out quickly.)  Our youngest wanted to be Clawdeen Wolf.  That was all she kept talking about and I made a promise so I committed myself to finding this costume.  I just didn't realize how difficult getting the whole costume was going to be!

We went store to store and looked through any Monster High costumes they had.  None of them had the whole costume (which included the boot covers) and nobody sold a costume that comes with the wig.  No matter what, the wig was separate.  Most of the stores only had a costume without the boot covers (a very important part of the costume as she was really hoping for them too and I did promise.)  There was one store that had the Clawdeen Wolf costume with the boot covers, but didn't sell the wig.  Well we couldn't have the costume without the wig!! Some places were completely sold out and I looked all over online.  I never thought it would be so hard to find a full Clawdeen Wolf costume with boot covers and also get the wig.  But I am happy to say that I found all she needed on Amazon today! I never thought to look there until I exhausted other stores.    Thank goodness for Amazon.

So glad we got the things she needed ordered and we she will be the happy little Monster High girl - Clawdeen Wolf! She was incredibly happy when she got home from school to me telling her it is on the way :)

I feel so much better now that I was able to keep my promise, I was honestly sweating this one as we went from store to store! What are your children dressing up as for Halloween?
