Raising Renee-A New Inspiring HBO Documentary

There is a new documentary that is premiering on HBO2 on Wednesday February 22nd.  It is called Raising Renee and it will premiere at 8 PM.

Raising Renee was filmed over 6 years and is about painter Beverly McIver and her promise to her mother Ethel.  She made a promise to her Mom that she would take care of her Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled sister Renee.  After her mother passed from cancer, it was time for her to fulfill her promise.

Raising Renee is a drama with humor and also some unexpected twists.  I have seen the trailer and also read about the film which is produced and directed by the husband and wife team, Steven Ascher and Jeanne Jordan.  It looks like it will be a very inspirational and a must see documentary! Be sure to check it out on HBO2 Wednesday February 22nd at 8 PM.

  1. We don't get HBO, but the movies I have seen that were produced by HBO have been really good. Hopefully, it will come out on DVD.

  2. Hi Small Town Mommy,

We don't have HBO either. Somebody had shared the story with me and it sounded very inspiring! I used to work with many people with disabilities when I worked outside of the home. I definitely would have watched it if we got HBO.

Hope you are having a wonderful week :)
